Vegetarian Cheese Spread Recipe That Uses Only 8 Ingredients

Are you having second thoughts about going vegan because you simply can’t imagine a life without your favorite cheese spread? Don’t hesitate turning your back on animal products because it is still very much possible for you to enjoy all sorts of treats with cheese spread in it by making something that tastes like it, but using only vegan ingredients!

But a vegetarian cheese spread is not only perfect for vegans. It’s also something ideal for individuals who like to steer clear of dairy products because they are allergic to them, or those who are advised by their respective doctors to cut down on their intake of sodium in order to lower their blood pressure or heart disease risk.

There are a couple of things that make this DIY vegetarian cheese spread the perfect one on the face of the planet:

  • It only requires you to get your hands on a total of 8 ingredients only. This only means that you are not going to have a hard time gathering a lot of ingredients just to be able to whip up a vegetarian cheese spread.
  • No cooking is required. Even if you consider yourself as the worst cook in the history of mankind, worry not. That’s because you simply have to mix all of the ingredients to come up with a vegetarian cheese spread.

Just like the real thing, this vegetarian cheese spread is also rich in protein. It’s for the fact that it contains cashews. It’s no secret among vegans that they can get loads of protein from nuts like cashews. Thanks to the vegetarian cheese spread that you will learn how to make later on, you can have your supply of muscle-building protein.

Another ingredient that is an excellent source of protein is tahini, which is a paste out of sesame seeds. Just like nuts, seeds such as sesame seeds are also phenomenal sources of protein. What’s more, tahini also supplies the body with healthy fat, something that’s good for the heart, brain, nerves and joints.

Every time you slather this vegetarian cheese spread on something, your body is also supplied with immune system-boosting vitamin C. The said nutrient is provided by a couple of ingredients used — lemon juice and sun-dried tomatoes. Not only do they make this vegetarian cheese spread taste so much better, but also a lot healthier.

Without any more ado, let’s check out the super simple recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups of water (plus another 1/3 cup)
  • 1 1/2 cups of cashews (raw)
  • 1 tablespoon of tahini
  • 1 tablespoon of sun-dried tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons of lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of liquid aminos
  • 1/4 teaspoon of paprika

Directions:

Grab a medium sized mixing bowl. Place cashews and sun-dried tomatoes in it.Add 1 1/2 cups of water. Make sure that everything is covered with water. If not, you may add a little more. Let cashews and sun-dried tomatoes soak in water for up to a couple of hours. Afterwards, drain off water thoroughly. Take your food processor out of storage. Install an S blade. Place the soaked cashes and sun-dried tomatoes in the food processor’s bowl. Add 1/3 cup of water, tahini, lemon juice, garlic powder, liquid aminos and paprika. Process everything for about a couple of minutes. Scrape the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula. Process the ingredients once again for a minute or two until very smooth. Transfer to a small bowl or clean plastic squeeze bottle.

Really simple, isn’t it? Remember to stash the rest of your homemade vegetarian cheese spread in the refrigerator for longevity.
