Natural Remedies for Heart Palpitations

Heart palpitations can occur from time to time. It is best characterized when your heartbeat becomes irregular such as slowing down or speeding up than your normal heartbeat.   • Up your magnesium intake. Another possible remedy for your heart palpitations is increasing your intake of foods that contain magnesium. Think kale, spinach, and other types of dark, leafy greens. You can also eat nuts, seeds, and fish to help increase the magnesium in your system. To ensure that you are getting sufficient amount of magnesium per day, you can also take magnesium supplements to keep heart palpitations at bay.
  • Cinnamon. Don’t forget to try cinnamon when it comes to alleviating heart palpitations. For one thing, cinnamon has plenty of health benefits to offer such as reducing high blood pressure, boosting your immune system, and fighting off free radicals in your body. Add half a teaspoon of cinnamon to a glass of water and drink it.
  • Deep breathing. You can also try deep breathing to help calm your erratic heart. Deep breathing allows you to go into a calm and relaxed state which is important to making your heart beat regularly. Sit down with your legs crossed and take slow and deep breaths through your nose. Let your belly expand as you inhale. Exhale slowly through your mouth. Repeat until your heartbeat goes back to normal.
  • Lemon balm. When it comes to treating heart palpitations, you should also try lemon balm. Make lemon balm tea to help calm your nerves and your heart. This tea is also good for those days when your hormones are out of whack.
