Daily Countdown of Healthy Habits

Switching to a healthier lifestyle is often in our minds but taking the huge step to actually making a change to our diet and way of life is just the first hurdle. Being able to maintain it is another problem entirely. Fortunately, you can actually train yourself to start following healthy habits with a daily countdown. Try following this list as much as you can and see if there is any improvement to your overall health.

Do 1 session of exercise. Exercise is key to staying healthy which is why you should make it a point to do one session of workout every day. This can be something simple as doing 10 minute of intense workout or an hour in the gym.

No phone at least 2 hours before you go to bed. We are often glued to our devices the entire day even until we are lying in bed, getting ready to sleep. Unfortunately, the light from our smartphones, and the games that we play, or the emails that we keep answering are keeping us away from our much needed sleep. It is high time to change this habit of ours. If you want to switch to a healthier lifestyle, turn off your phone or computer two hours before you sleep. This gives your body enough time to go into a state of relaxation so you can drift off to sleep easily.

Three servings of low-fat dairy daily. Eating three servings of low-fat dairy products on a regular basis can deliver a healthy dose of calcium and protein to your system. These two are good for your bones and teeth.

Go for four breaks. Don’t forget to give yourself a break at least four times in a day. Allow your mind to rest through meditation. You should also stretch from time to time especially when you’ve been sitting for hours. This will help remove the tightness in your muscles and joints.

Have five servings of vegetables and fruits. Another daily countdown that you should really keep in mind is to have at least five servings of fruits and vegetables in a day. This is due to the fact that fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins and minerals that can boost your immune system, improve your digestion, and strengthen your cardiovascular system as well. It is always a good idea to prepare ahead of time or change your diet along with the seasons so you will still  have access to fresh ingredients all the time. Plus, you will always have something to look forward to.

Six minutes of meditation. Stress can be overwhelming at times which can affect your overall health. With that being said, it is always a good practice to set aside at least six minutes of your time for mindful meditation to help cleanse your thoughts.

These are just six daily countdowns that you can start with if you want to start your way to following healthy habits.
