Homemade Face Masks that Work

Maintaining flawlessly beautiful skin will need a lot work on your end especially when you constantly subject it to makeup and environmental factors. Diet does play a significant role on how your skin looks like but sometimes a little help from you can make a huge difference too. One way for you to prevent wrinkles, blemishes, and other signs of aging from appearing is to make a homemade face mask. These masks are actually useful when you want to keep acne at bay too. Here are some examples of face masks that really work.

Green tea, honey, lemon, and sugar

For this recipe, you will need 1 tablespoon of honey, 3 teaspoons of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of green tea, and lemon juice. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly until you create a paste. Apply this on your face evenly while rubbing for 1 to 2 minutes in a slow and circular motion. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes then wash off with warm water. Use a wet towel for added exfoliation.

Honey and nutmeg

You will need 2 tablespoons of oatmeal, 2 teaspoons of lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of nutmeg, and 2 tablespoons of honey. Start by crushing the oatmeal using a food processor or with your fingers until it transforms into powder form. Add the nutmeg and mix. Add the lemon juice until you get a clumpy consistency. Add the honey and mix thoroughly. Apply the face mask and leave it on for 2o to 30 minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water while using gentle rubbing motions. This will help exfoliate your skin too.

Cinnamon, aloe vera, and honey

Another face mask that will do wonders for your skin is cinnamon, aloe vera, and honey. In this recipe, you will need 3 teaspoons of raw honey, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1 inch of fresh aloe vera leaf or 2 teaspoons of aloe vera juice. Combine all the ingredients in a small bowl and apply the paste all over your face. Rub for a full minute using slow and circular motions and leave it on for 10 minutes. It can help remove blackheads. If you have sensitive skin, you might want to look for other face mask recipes as this might sting a bit.

Egg white mask

Egg whites are actually good for the skin as it can help tighten the skin to shrink the pores thus minimizing acne breakouts. It is also good in clearing black spots and blemishes. You will need to prepare 1 teaspoon of orange juice, ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder, and 1 egg white. Get a clean mixing bowl then beat the egg white along with lemon juice. Add the honey afterwards then mix. Wash your face first with lukewarm water before you apply your face mask. This will help your pores to open up. Apply the face mask but avoid the areas around the eyes and mouth. Allow the mask to dry then gently rinse with warm water. You can rub your skin gently to get rid of any tackiness to it.
