Natural Remedies for Numb Hands and Feet

There are times when our hands and feet become numb because we have been sitting for too long which cause our nerves to be pinched, which can reduce the amount of blood flowing in our hands and feet. But if the numbness doesn’t go away, there may be some underlying condition that you need to address. There are several factors that can cause this problem such as getting injured, poor posture, lower back problems, or alcohol use even.

Fortunately, there are a few home remedies that can be used to help bring back life to your numb hands and feet. Here are a few that you can try:

Essential oils

Massaging your hands and feet with essential oils can help reduce the numbness that you are feeling. You can choose cypress oil which is known for minimizing inflammation where, when massaged regularly, can repair and restore the damaged nerves for them to function once more.

Epsom salt

Another possible remedy for numbness is Epsom salt which is known to contain high amounts of magnesium. This mineral has been found to be effective in reducing inflammation while repairing inflamed nerves to minimize the numbness. All that you have to do is to mix a cup of Epsom salt into a tub, then soak in it for 20 minutes to half an hour.

Yogurt

Yogurt is not just good for your gut, but it appears that it can also help with the tingling sensation and numbness that you feel in your hands and feet. This is because yogurt contains various nutrients including manganese which can boost your blood circulation. This, in turn, helps bring back the lost function of your nerves.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is yet another home remedy that can help you deal with the numbness in your hands and feet as it has the ability to strengthen the muscles. You will need to get 2 tablespoons of this oil and place it in a small bowl and warm it up for a few seconds in your microwave. Apply a few drops on areas where numbness is happening then massage in circular motions for 10 minutes or so. This should be done daily until you feel relief from the numbness. It is important to take note that these remedies will take time before you see any results. If the numbness persists, talk to your doctor as there may be an underlying condition that needs to be addressed.
