Muffin top, belly bulge, whatever it is you call it, it affects millions of people all over the world. This isn’t surprising to those who tend to overeat as our midsection tends to accummulate excess fats from the food that we consume. Just imagine the kinds of food that you’ve been constantly eating and you know that somewhere along the line, you’ve made your muffin top to appear. Fortunately, there are ways in which you can reverse this damage and one of them is by revamping your current diet. The other one is to incorporate some workouts to your busy day so that you’ll be able to ditch the fats that tend to congregate in your midsection.
Here are some exercises that can help you get on the right track to saying goodbye to your belly fat.
- Side bends. If you want to alleviate the presence of muffin top, then do some side bends. Stand with your feet about hip width apart and your arms at your sides. Reach your left hand towards your foot while raising your right arm up and place it at your hip. Keep alternating sides with one hand up and one hand going down. Do 100 reps.
- Bicycle crunches. In this workout, you should lie down on the floor on your back. Raise your shoulders off the floor as you raise your legs. Bring your right knee towards your chest as you move your left elbow towards your right knee. Go back to your first position and crunch but this time raising your left knee towards your chest and your right elbow towards your left knee. Continue alternating your crunches until you complete 15 reps.
- Jack knives. Another way for you to blast muffin top is to do a set of jack knives. In this exercise, you need to lie down on the floor or on a bench with your arms stretched over your head and your legs extended with toes pointing toward the ceiling. Raise arms toward your legs while raising them to a 45 degree to 90 degree angle while keeping your shoulders raised from the floor. Make sure that your arms are way above your stomach so that you will be in a jack knife pose. Go back to your first position and repeat 40 times.
- Alternating superman. Here is another exercise that can help you torch fat in your midsection. Lie down on the floor on your belly with your arms and legs stretched. Raise your right arm and your left leg as high as you can then release. Do the same thing with your left arm and right leg. Continue alternating your superman moves to train your belly, back, arms, and leg muscles.
