How to Remove Bed Bugs Naturally

Is your bed infested with bed bugs? You may not notice them that much since these minute creatures are hardly noticeable in broad daylight, but if you wake up to dried blood on your skin and some dark carcasses in bed, then you might just have an infestation in your hands. Most people tend to dispose of their beds when they learn that they are sleeping with these pests, but if your mattress is still in good condition, you might want to try getting rid of them using natural methods like the one below.

Hair dryer

One way to get rid of bed bugs is heat. You can use a hair dryer on the infected parts of your bed to remove them.

Baking soda

Not only is baking soda effective in eliminating any dirt, stains, and smells from your mattress, but they can also contribute to the removal of bed bugs naturally. Sprinkle baking soda all over your mattress and leave it for a few hours. Vacuum your bed afterwards to remove excess baking soda and the dehydrated bodies of bed bugs. Give your mattress some air time and that’s it.

Tea tree oil

Did you know that tea tree oil is one way to remove bed bugs? This is due to the fact that tea tree oil comes with antimicrobial as well as antibacterial properties that can prevent growth of viruses, bacteria, as well as fungus in your bed. When washing your linens, make sure that you add some tea tree oil in the mix or spray it directly on your clothes. You can spray it all over your house too especially in entryways to prevent bed bugs and other pests from entering.

Mint leaves

Crush the leaves of mint and place them in entry points to your home and in your bedroom as this will keep the bed bugs from migrating to your bed. You can even use it in your closet as well as on your mattress too. The smell of mint leaves can also be good for you especially when your energy levels are low.
