Remedies to Combat Fatigue

The lifestyle that we are living nowadays often puts us at risk of suffering from fatigue what with the work that we do both at home and at the office or school. At the end of the day, it’s not just our bodies that get tired but our mental and emotional well-being as well. When fatigue sets in, we don’t want to do anything except to lie in bed the rest of the day. Fortunately, there are ways for you to fight off fatigue so you will have enough energy to last the day.

Increase your red blod cells. One way to fight fatigue is to have sufficient amount of iron in the body. This mineral is the one responsible for increasing red blood cells in our system to ensure that oxygen is supplied throughout the body. You can have iron supplements or increase your intake of foods that have iron in them.

Start exercising. You’re probably not in the mood to exercise after you’re feeling quite tired already but experts suggest that doing light workout can actually help fight off fatigue. What’s great about working out is that aside from developing more muscles, you are also strengthening your lungs and heart. The more you exercise, the better your health will be overall.

Go citrus. Fatigue can make you feel sleepy in the day so why not perk yourself up by having a glass of lemon water when you wake up? Just squeeze half of lemon juice into a glass of water and drink it. You can go for cold water or hot depending on your preferences. Do this twice a day to wake your senses up.

Drink more water. Dehydration can zap your body of strength which can add to your feeling of fatigue. This is why you need to make sure that you are constantly hydrated especially when you’re living in a warm climate or you are exerting plenty of effort. A good indication that you are well hydrated is when your urine is pale. If it is slightly darker or darker in shade, you need to up your water intake.

Do yoga. If you have been staying away from yoga because you’re worried that you are not physically ready for it, you might be surprised to find that there are others who are in the same predicament as you who found that they were able to develop not just their body but their mind as well through this exercise. Yoga increases your flexibility while teaching you how to calm your mind to fight fatigue.

Eat fish. Another way for you to combat fatigue is to eat fish. Fish contains plenty of omega-3 fatty acids that promote better blood circulation and heart health. This helps combat the effects of fatigue.
