Tips on How to Remove the Bumps on Your Tongue

Bumps on the tongue can appear from time to time and they can be caused by allergies, injuries, or infections even. Although feeling them may be a bit weird, they are quite harmless. There are some who worry that these bumps are cancerous, but this is quite rare.

Possible Causes of Tongue Bumps

Like it was mentioned before, there are different possible causes for tongue bumps to occur. Here are a few that you should consider.

Tongue injuries

Tongue injury may give your tongue a few bumps as this is an ordinary response to an injury. If you bite your tongue accidentally, a bump or swelling may appear. If you burned your tongue when eating something hot, bumps can appear too.

Canker sores

This is the most common cause of bumps to appear on your tongue. These sores can appear on the insides of your lips, but they can also pop on the tongue as well. You will find these sores looking red, yellow, or even white and can be quite painful. Canker sores can disappear on their own, but some may require assistance to alleviate the pain.
