A lot of people are wondering what clean eating is all about. Well, it is fairly simple. It is eating foods that are real, whole, and unprocessed such as whole fruits, meat, vegetables, seafood, dairy, whole grains, and nuts just to name a few. It’s not that hard to switch to a clean eating diet since there are some guidelines for you to follow like the ones below.

Always eat real 

When we say real, these are foods that you actually grow on the ground or raise in a farm where food is well chosen for healthier livestock. If you come across those that are not farmed, you might want to steer clear from them. 

Cook your own food 

Even if you are too busy to cook your own meal, keep in mind that this will give you complete control on what goes inside your body. You will be able to choose your own ingredients plus you can get to experiment too. It’s okay to eat out once in a while. Just make sure that you don’t feel too bad about it. 

Eat naked foods 

These are foods that don’t come in packages or tin cans for that matter. Meat, seafood, poultry, eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, whole grains, these are foods that belong in your clean eating diet and will deliver you nutrients that will improve your overall health. 

Add rainbow to your meal 

Rainbow foods are those that come in different colors like orange for carrots, green for vegetables, yellow for fruits, and so on. Adding these colors to your meals can ensure that you are getting your daily dose of nutrients, fiber, and essential fats. You can add them in soups, stews, stir-fry, and even salads if you like. 

Focus on plants 

When it comes to clean eating, it would be a good idea to focus mostly on plants as they are one of the best sources of vitamins, minerals, protein, fiber, and other essential nutrients. What’s more, they don’t have a lot of calories in them and sugar is practically non-existent. Plant-based foods contain antioxidants that can flush the toxins from your body.

Add variety to your ingredients 

Not everyone can easily ditch their use of refined white sugar so why not add other options like honey, raw cane sugar, and even pure maple syrup? The more options you have, the easier it will be for you to figure out which ones will work best for the meal that you are preparing or even dessert for that matter.
