Relieve Constipation Naturally

Constipation occurs when you have difficulty moving your bowels and can run for more than three days. Being constipated is no laughing matter as your body needs to eliminate the wastes to avoid causing toxins to wreak havoc in your body. If you find yourself unable to move your bowels, the good news is that there are natural remedies that can help give you the relief you need.

Here are some that are worth mentioning in case you are feeling the discomfort caused by constipation.

Lemon. We all love the citrusy scent of lemon but did you know that it can actually help relieve your constipation? The citric acid contained in lemon can actually boost your digestive system so that it will be able to eliminate the wastes and toxins from your body smoothly. Just squeeze one lemon into a cup of warm water and sip it to get your digestion up and running.

Coffee. Here is another solution for constipation. Drinking coffee not only helps in perking you up in the morning but it also helps your digestion get a move on. Just make sure that you don’t drink beyond 2 or 3 cups of coffee as it can cause dehydration and constipation.

Flaxseed oil. Flaxseed oil is a simple remedy that can help with your constipation problem. The oil basically coats the intestinal wall and the stool thus encouraging multiple bowel movements. You can mix the flaxseed oil with orange juice if you like so you can solve constipation quickly.

Prunes. Another useful solution to constipation problems is prunes or if you are not fond of eating prunes, prune juice. Prunes are natural laxatives because of the amount of fiber that they contain plus it has sorbitol which aids in loosening your stool. You need to drink one glass of prune juice in the morning and one at night to alleviate constipation.

Yogurt. The gut flora in your digestive system needs to be healthy in order to prevent constipation or diarrhea. When there is an imbalance of good and bad bacteria, various digestive problems can occur. A good way to bring back the natural balance of your gut flora is to consume 1 to 3 cups of plain yogurt. Eat one during breakfast and the rest as snack or as is.

Have a routine. If you want to alleviate or prevent constipation from happening, it would be a good idea to have a potty routine to follow. You need to set a time for your bowel at least three times a day even when there is nothing coming out. You just need to stay relaxed and your body will catch on.
