Natural Remedies for Phlegm

Phlegm usually appears when you have colds or infection in the upper respiratory tract. All that you have to do is to juice half a lemon and mix it with 2 teaspoons of honey and eat it. You need to do this three times a day until your throat clears.
  • Turmeric. Turmeric is also a useful remedy when it comes to getting rid of phlegm as it can kill off the bacteria that is causing phlegm to appear. This spice is also known for its ability to strengthen one’s immune system too. To use this remedy, simply add turmeric to hot milk and drink it once in the morning and before going to bed. You can also add a pinch of salt and a tablespoon of turmeric to a glass of warm water and gargle with it several times in a day.
  • Ginger. Ginger is also worth taking note of if you want to find relief from your phlegm. This immune boosting ingredient can clear up any respiratory infections that are triggered by overproduction of mucus. You will need to boil a cup of water then grate or slice a ginger and add a tablespoon of it in the water. Let it steep for 5 to 7 minutes then drain the liquid. You can add honey to the mixture then sip it throughout the day.
