Iced Coffee Recipes to Cool You this Summer

The warm temperature of summer can certainly make us sweat more than is necessary especially when we’re outdoors or when we’re constantly active. Yes, drinking water is imperative but what about coffee? Drinking hot coffee may be your ritual every morning but if you want to cool down, making your own iced coffee is worth a shot. Here are a few recipes that you might want to try to enjoy the summer with your favorite beverage.

  • Blended iced cappuccino. For this iced coffee recipe, you will need 2 tablespoons of instant coffee, 1/8 cup of hot water, 8 to 10 ice cubes, 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar, ¼ cup of cream, and ½ cup of chocolate milk. Dissolve the instant coffee in hot water then pour it in your blender. Add all the ingredients except for the cream and blend until the mixture becomes frothy. Add the cream then blend until the mixture is creamy. Pour the contents in a glass and serve.
  • Frozen cocoaccino. This drink is absolutely divine as it combines cocoa powder, espresso, and maple syrup perfectly. To make this tasty treat that will definitely cool you this summer, you will need a double shot of espresso, 1 ½ cups of ice, ¾ cup of milk, 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder, 3 tablespoons of pure maple syrup, and a dash of vanilla extract. Put all the ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and add some whipped cream and cherry on top and you’re done.
  • Cold brew coffee. Skip the hot coffee for the meantime and try making some cold brew coffee. For this recipe, you will need 4 cups of cold water, a cup of coarsely ground coffee beans, and creamer or half and half. Start by putting the ground coffee in a large container or pitcher then pour the water on top. Stir the contents slightly so that all the grounds are submerged in water. You can let it stand in room temperature or you can put it in the fridge and wait 12 to 15 hours for it to brew. After your mixture brews, pour the coffee through a coffee filter or cheesecloth several times until you have removed the grounds. Serve the contents in ice and add half and half or cream plus your choice of flavor.
  • Caramel coffee frappe. Here is another iced coffee recipe that you’ll love. You will need 2 oz of macchiato creamer, 6 oz of cold-press coffee, ½ cup of iced cubes, and ½ cup of yogurt or ice cream in vanilla or plain flavor. You will need to put two small glasses in the freezer and let them chill for 5 to 10 minutes before you even start making your frappe. Put all the ingredients in the freezer with the liquid ingredients going in frst. Blend until the contents are smooth then pour into the glasses. You can drink this in the morning or, if you want to treat yourself in the afternoon, add some whipped coconut cream on top, then drizzle some caramel, and some dark chocolate chips.
