Habits that Kill Your Productivity Levels

Have you ever noticed that your work load for the day doesn’t seem to end? How come it is taking you forever to finish a single task? Chances are, you have some habits that are killing your productivity levels. Most of us don’t realize that some habits of ours are affecting our work. If you want to be able to stick to your tasks, these habits should be removed as much as possible.

Saying “yes” all the time

Saying “yes” all the time can take a toll on your own work since you won’t have time to do them because you are off doing another thing for someone else. You might be thinking that you’re winning points from your boss but taking more than you can handle can affect your productivity levels. This can backfire on you.

Always checking your social media

It’s understandable that you don’t want to be the last one to know about the latest news on your family and friends, but if you are always checking your phone during work hours, you won’t get anything done at all. The best way to improve your productivity levels is to avoid any distractions while you are at work which includes turning off any notifications from your phone. You’ll find that you are doing more work this way.

You want it to be perfect

There is nothing bad with wanting your work to be perfect, but if you are spending way too much time on just a single task because of your habit of perfectionism, there is a long way ahead of you to finish all of your tasks. There is nothing wrong with wanting to perfect everything, but you can also do your best on certain tasks to meet the deadlines. You need to learn how to expend your resources and your energy on each task that you are given so that you will be able to complete them.

Poor sleeping habits

Did you know that missing out on your much-needed sleep can be dangerous to your health? Sleep deprivation can take a toll on your health and your performance levels even since your brain is suffering from brain fog where you are unable to make snap decisions easily. If you want to be able to stay alert, make sure that you are getting enough hours of sleep per day.
