Got Dark Knuckles? Do These Home Remedies for Getting Rid of the Problem

No one will notice your awesome nail art if your knuckles are dark — they will surely steal the spotlight! Getting your knuckles scrubbed endlessly, which may be the solution that you have been doing for some time now, won’t actually deal with your problem. In fact, scrubbing incessantly can only make things turn for the worse!

Worry not if you are frustrated with your dark-colored knuckles that keep you from having hands that you won’t mind being seen or held. That’s because you will find below some of the best home remedies for those dark knuckles. See which of the following will work best, allowing you to have hands that are worthy of being flaunted all the time:

Almond Oil

In some instances, the reason behind dark knuckles is excessive skin dryness. Getting rid of the cause is as simple as massaging almond oil on the knuckles on a regular basis. Before hitting the hay, make sure that you apply a little almond oil on each and every knuckle — don’t stop massaging until the super hydrating oil gets fully absorbed.

Olive Oil

Just like almond oil, olive oil is a phenomenal home remedy for dark knuckles. The only difference between these healthy oils is olive oil is more accessible to many. Again, make sure that you don’t quit massaging olive oil on problem areas until it is absorbed completely. Do this on a regular basis to see results in no time.

Lemon Juice

Quite certain that it’s not too much dryness of the skin that’s causing your dark knuckles? Then hyperpigmentation is most likely the root cause, which is something that a little lemon juice can fix. Once or twice per day, simply apply freshly-squeezed lemon juice on your knuckles. Rinse off after 20 to 30 minutes, pat dry and moisturize your hands.

Tomato Juice

You may also try daubing tomato juice on your dark-colored knuckles up to a couple of times a day. Just like orange juice, tomato juice is acidic in nature, and it serves as a mild bleaching agent for the skin. Allow tomato juice to sit on your knuckles for up to 30 minutes before rinsing it off with water. Again, moisturize afterwards.

Yogurt

If you just tried lemon or tomato juice on your knuckles but there’s stinging sensation, then your skin is just too sensitive to natural acids. Don’t worry because there is an alternative to it that’s so good at lightening those dark knuckles, and that’s yogurt. Once a day, smear some plain yogurt on your knuckles. Wash it off half an hour after.

Brown Sugar

There are cases in which dark knuckles are caused by excessive dead skin cells, and it calls for some mild exfoliating. All you have to do is add a few drops of lemon juice to a little brown sugar. Using circular motions, gently massage the paste on your knuckles. Rinse off afterwards. Do this no more than once or twice a week.

Salt

Another exfoliating solution for dark-colored knuckles is one that’s out of salt. However, do make sure that you use finely-ground salt rather than rock salt because the latter is simply too coarse for the skin of your knuckles. A few drops of lemon juice to a teaspoon of finely-ground salt makes for a superb exfoliating agent for the knuckles.

Baking Soda

Instead of an exfoliating solution out of brown sugar or salt plus lemon juice, you may also opt for baking soda and a little water. The paste resulting from the combination of the two may be massaged gently on each and every knuckle, and then rinsed off with water. Try to limit your baking soda exfoliation to twice a week only.
