Fight Fatigue with These Essential Oils

The amount of work that we do every day and the stress that comes with it can certainly make us feel too tired at the end of the day. And when fatigue sets in, our body becomes exposed to various health problems not to mention lack of energy to do anything except to lounge in the living room with the TV open. Most of us would just sleep it off but when you’re body is too tired, sometimes we just can’t sleep easily. Again this is an added problem with fatigue but the good news is that there are ways for you to fight it off. One of these is to use essential oils to keep fatigue at bay.

Which essential oils should you use when you come home exhausted? Here are several options for you to choose from.

Orange. The citrusy scent of orange can help your energy levels get a boost. Its therapeutic properties can make you focus better on your work while banishing the effects of fatigue. Another plus to using this essential oil is that it can lift your mood. You can diffuse this scent, add a few drops to your water, or spray on your clothes if you like.

Peppermint. Another essential oil that you can use to combat fatigue and exhaustion is peppermint. The scent of this oil is enough to give you the jolt you need especially after a long and tiring day. You can add a few drops of peppermint oil along with carrier oil on your skin particularly on your temples and your neck to soothe away fatigue or you can inhale its scent directly from the bottle to jerk you awake. Take note, however, that you shouldn’t use this essential oil 6 hours prior to bed time as you might lie awake until the wee hours of the morning because of this stimulant. Pregnant women, those with high blood pressure, or epilepsy shouldn’t use this essential oil to fight fatigue as it might have adverse effects on them.

Eucalyptus. Eucalyptus is another option you shouldn’t forget as this has several benefits when it comes to fighting fatigue. First, it helps stimulate the mind which is important if you have other tasks to accomplish. Second, it boosts concentration. And third, it can reduce the amount of pain that you are feeling which in turn can increase your energy levels.

Geranium. This essential oil is the perfect choice if you are looking for balance. Its scent is quite uplifting and can have a positive effect on your emotions particularly if you are too tired. It can relieve stress and regulate your hormonal system as well.
