Banish Tooth Sensitivity with Natural Remedies

Have you ever experienced a sudden burst of pain when drinking something cold? Or when eating some hard food? It might be that you have tooth sensitivity. Tooth sensitivity can be triggered by cold, sweet, hot, or even sour food that sends shooting pain deep into the nerve endings of your teeth. It is possible that you have a fractured tooth, gum disease, exposed roots, tooth decay, or even worn fillings that are causing tooth sensitivity. With that being said, there are some remedies that you can take advantage of that will manage the pain as much as possible.

Oil pulling with coconut oil

Oil pulling with coconut oil can actually reduce the number of bacteria in your mouth that can help make tooth sensitivity disappear. Simply put extra virgin coconut oil in your mouth, swish it around for 20 minutes then spit it out after. Rinse your mouth with warm water. Brush your teeth afterwards. You should do this every day in the morning before you eat or while brushing your teeth.

Cloves

The anesthetic, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties of cloves can actually aid in combatting oral infections while reducing sensitivity and pain in your teeth. Get 2 whole cloves and grind it. Mix a little olive oil in it to make a paste then apply on the affected tooth. You should wait at least 30 minutes before rinsing your mouth thoroughly with water. You can also get some clove oil and dab it directly on the affected tooth and gum with the help of a cotton ball. Leave it to sit for 20 to 30 minutes before rinsing with water.

Salt water

The pain you are feeling in your tooth may not go away any time soon so reduce the discomfort you are feeling using some salt water. Simply mix ½ teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water then rinse your mouth with it. If you feel pain while swishing the salt water in your mouth, hold it for a few minutes. Spit it out afterwards then rinse your mouth with plain water. You need to do this two times a day.

Garlic

Another possible remedy for your tooth sensitivity is garlic. This is because garlic contains allicin which has anesthetic and antibacterial properties that can minimize tooth sensitivity. This will help kill any bacteria present in your mouth that is causing infection or tooth sensitivity. You need to crush 1 to 2 garlic cloves and add 2 to 3 drops of water and salt to it. Stir the ingredients well before applying on your tooth. Wait for a few minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.

These home remedies can help banish your tooth sensitivity with regular use. Try alternating these home remedies if you like until you see results. The best thing about these remedies is that they are safe to use and that they can be repeated as many times as you want.
