5 Tips to Clean Eating After the Holidays

After holidays often leave us a few pounds heavier than before which isn’t surprising given the food binge we’ve done for the past few weeks. Unfortunately, the extra weight is now a source of problem especially when you’re trying to keep your figure slim. How will you be able to bounce back after all this? You can always start with something simple and that is to start clean eating today. To help you get started, here are five tips for you to follow.


Be realistic with your goals. Losing ten pounds in a week is doable but not healthy. Health and fitness experts recommend that you should aim to lose at least a pound or two per week. This way, your body won’t be shocked with the rapid weight loss.

Try a plant-based breakfast. Most of us start our day with eggs or meat based breakfast but why not try something healthier such as oatmeal, quinoa, and the like? Introducing these foods to your table, especially in the morning, can ensure that you are getting the nutrients that you need for the day. What’s more, these plant-based foods will help increase your energy levels so you will have enough to carry you through the day.

Drink more. Water that is. Alcoholic beverages should be avoided or at least reduced so that you will be well on your way to shedding those extra pounds you’ve gained. Increasing your water intake means that your belly will be full fast so you will be less likely to eat more during mealtimes plus it can help flush out toxins that cause fats to cling to your body.

Clear up your kitchen. If you really want to jump start your weight loss after the holidays, you should start clearing out your kitchen. This means getting rid of all the temptation in the fridge or your dinner table and replacing them with healtheir options.
