Tips on How to Remove a Cold Sore Overnight

Cold sores can happen from time to time and these are often triggered by viral infections. They can appear on the lips, around the mouth, nose, and even on the cheeks too. When these sores are still fresh, the virus can be easily transferred to someone else which is why you need to take steps to treat them as soon as possible. Fortunately, there are several remedies that you can try to get relief from this problem.

Garlic

If you want to make your cold sores disappear, garlic is a good home remedy to try. One reason behind this is that garlic has antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial properties that can treat your cold sores fast. Another plus to using garlic is that it has anti-inflammatory properties which can reduce the swelling too. Just slice some garlic clove, crush half of it then press against the sore until the pain recedes. You should do this at least 3 to 5 times a day.

Tea tree oil

This essential oil has been found to be effective in treating cold sores because it is high in antiviral properties that can eliminate any infection on your sores. All that you have to do is to dab some of the oil on the sores using a cotton swab several times in a day. This way, you can speed up the healing process.

Peppermint oil

If you want to make your cold sores disappear, peppermint oil is worth trying out. Just like tea tree oil, this essential oil has antiviral properties that can eliminate any virus in your cold sores. Apply some on your cold sores, and you will see a huge difference in just a few days.

Coconut oil

Hydrogen peroxide

You can also use hydrogen peroxide to treat cold sores overnight. This product can actually help dry up your cold sores fast. You just need to pour about 3% of the solution in a small bowl then dip your cotton swab in it. Dab it on your blisters and leave the solution until the stinging sensation disappears.

Salt

Another home remedy that can help make your cold sores disappear is salt. All that you have to do is to apply the salt on your cold sore using your clean finger. This is because salt has antimicrobial properties that can eliminate the virus present in the sores.
