Bruises are not unusual especially around kids who are often climbing, playing, and experimenting with their capabilities. Even as adults, we also get bruises when we bump on objects, trip and fall, and even because of a health condition. Whatever caused these bruises to appear, finding a way to reduce their appearance can be a huge relief. You see, these discolorations occur when the blood vessels break close to the surface of the skin. Although bruises tend to disappear on their own, the gradual fading can take some time. Fortunately, there are remedies that you can use to make your bruises disappear.

Essential oils

There is always an essential oil that you can use for specific illness and when you are dealing with bruises, you can use essential oils too. A good mixture to use for bruises includes geranium, lemongrass, cypress, helichrysum, and lavender. However, if you don’t have all of them, anyone will do. You only need to massage a few drops of your choice of oil on the affected area several times in a day.

Hot water bottle

Another home remedy that can help make your bruises disappear faster is to apply a hot water bottle on the area as soon as you see it forming. The warm temperature can help reduce blod clots on the surface of the skin. If there is swelling along with the bruising, start with a cold compress first before using your hot compress. Make sure that the water bottle is not that hot that you’ll scald your skin.
