Fun and Healthy Snacks for Your Kids

Adults can get through our whole day with just our three main meals, kids on the other hand need some snack in between to keep them energized and get the right amount of nutrient. It is important for parents to feed their children healthy snacks. However, we all know how difficult it is to feed children healthy food. So, the solution we can take is to make fun and healthy snacks that your kids will enjoy eating and even making! Instead of going for store bought snacks, try out these easy recipes.

Fruit Kebab

Have some fun with colors and flavor with your children! Get some cookie cutters to create fun shapes with cheese, apples, banana and other fruits. You can even create a low-calorie chocolate dip for your kebab. The bright colors can help keep your kids interested and the vitamins and minerals in cheese and fruits can help with your kid’s health.

Apple Sandwich

Create a fun little sandwich with your kids by creating two thin slices of apples as bread and spread peanut butter in the middle. You can make this a cool snack in the summer by rolling the sandwich on its side with peanut butter or chocolate and sprinkle with some rainbow sprinkles or some nuts and put in the refrigerator for a few minutes.

Yummy Smoothie

A few kids would prefer juices or smoothies than actual food. Smoothies are a great way to give your kids vitamins and minerals they need. This is also a great way to sneak in some vegetables in their day. Add in some yogurt, honey, fruits and vegetable to your smoothie. Make this a fun activity with your kids by letting them pick the ingredient for their smoothie.

Healthy Pizza

Get some whole grain pita and prep some healthy ingredients such as mushrooms, peppers, tomato and cheese. Allow your kids to create their own pizza and bake them in the oven. This is a great way to introduce different flavors to your children without making them nitpick all of the flavors if they ate it one by one.

Banana Cups

Slice some bananas into small pieces and crush some graham crackers. Take a small cup for your snack and place the graham on the bottom. Use the back of your spoon to flatten your graham layer. Add in your bananas and top it with yogurt. Place the cups in the refrigerator. You can top your healthy, delicious snack with some whip cream or powder chocolate. You can add more fruits to this recipe such as mangoes, blueberries and even some mocha balls.

Say no to high fat and preservative snacks! Try out these different recipes and create variation of these recipes that you and your kids will enjoy. Though, don’t forget to feed your kids healthy meals too. Make use of colors and shapes with picky children. Allow them to play with the food and enjoy different textures and flavors.
