Cheap but Effective Items for Your Home Gym

Are you trying to build your home gym from scratch? It is easy enough to become overwhelmed with the number of options to consider for your personal gym since you’ll want to get the best as much as possible. But with the price tags that they come with, you will need to choose carefully which equipment you will be investing on. But do you really need to spend hundreds of dollars just to build you a personal gym? Not really. There are plenty of cheap but effective items that you can actually get for your home gym that will give you the results that you are looking for. Here are some that are worth considering.

Jump Rope

You’re probably thinking that jump ropes are just for kids but you might be surprised that it is actually good for building strength, stamina, and muscles too. Just don’t expect that you will be able to do 30-minutes of jumping rope in one go. It will take time for you to get back to the rhythm especially when it has been a while since you used this tool. This is actually a good addition to your home gym and it is cheap too.

Kettlebell

Kettlebells are worth adding to your home gym too because, aside from being a useful doorstopper, it can actually help you shape and tone your muscles easily. It is actually a useful tool to do various workouts from doing simple squats, lungs, to full swings, you will find that these exercises will become more difficult to do with the added weight that you are trying to control.

Flat Bench

Here is another cheap but effective equipment that you can add to your personal gym that you will love. The flat bench can be used for the basic exercises like dumbbell chest press or you can convert it to a plyometric box that you can use for jumping workouts or step-ups.

Stability Ball

Another cheap but really effective tool to add to your personal gym is the stability ball. This ball can actually be used to train your entire body starting with your core. You can do a wall squats, lunges, crunches, and even bridges if you like.

BOSU Ball

If you want the extra challenge, you would want to have the BOSU ball. BOSU means for “both sides up” and this basically looks like half a stability ball because one side is flat. What’s great about this tool is that it can actually make it tougher for you to do push ups, squats, and lunges since you will need to stabilize yourself on top of the BOSU ball.
